Abstract

"Studiesw on the constituent of Korean Cannabis"
Marihuana Containing tetrahydrocannabinol(T.H.C), a psychotomimetically active component, is being abused to lead serious socicial problems over the world these days.
To obtain some scientific data to cope with various kind of illegal traffic or abouse, we cultivated Cannabis in 10 districts throught our country in 1971. Tetrahydrocannabinol was spearated and determined by Thin layer Chromatography and colorimetry respectively.
The followings are summarizations of accomplishments.
1. Our data show that there is usually little differences in T.H.C content with different regional groups.
2. A comparison between male and female Cannabis show that both sexes contain roughly similar amount of T.H.C.
3. Tetrahydrocannabinol is most abundant in flowering tops and there is a tendency that the content decreases with maturity.
